Brinkman Adventures ~ REVIEW

As you may know we love books here in this house, but we equally love audio dramas.  We have been long time fans of the Brinkman Adventures and have been enjoying their latest offering of suspense and adventure,  Season 6: Underground Rising.  Several weeks ago we received the digital version and enjoyed it both during morning time and during lunch.  Sometimes Kaden gets a little board with plain audio books, audio dramas are more immersing.  You can hear them breaking glass, shuffling their feet and the crackling fire sounds makes you feel as though you are right there.  It's like IMAX for your ears with History, drama and Christian inspiration.

This latest installment of the Brinkman Adventures includes 6 chapter and is a little over 2 hours long.  The Dutch Underground Part 1 and Part 2 takes you back to WWII and was definitely our favorite.  We were wrecked through the whole thing on the edge of our seats...literally.  Twice Born Fly explained beautifully how to understand Salvation and the analogy is outstanding.  The track I Wonder Why? was also pretty cool, Kaden and I pondered what it would be like to move to India and start an orphanage.  Wow, this one was perfect as we are thinking of making some huge changes in our lives.  The last 2 tracks were Free Burma Rangers Part 1 and 2.  We were able to follow a Missionary on his journey through school and life into the missions in Burma.  Honestly I knew nothing about Burma.  We spent some time doing our own research after listening.  that's one of the things I love about the Brinkman Adventures, you want to learn more, you become connected to the people in these stories.  It's amazing to have these treasures in our homeschool.

So, what did we think?  We loved it as usual, we were a bit disappointed that it had half as many episodes as they have changed to a six episode release structure.  But, it's only because we love them so much....maybe this will mean they will come out more frequently...I don't know about that though, just hopeful! :)  Another thing we love is how on their website you can check out all the extras they offer for each season.  Click HERE to see all the real faces behind the stories.  You can hear a live Podcast with Dolf VanKestern, son of Han’s VanKestern from the first story.  You can see real ration cards, learn to make a Dutch treat and so much more.  Any of their seasons are an asset to your children's world.  I would recommend these as gifts for any occasion and think they make an excellent companion to our homeschool day.  Even though we have listened to all the previous ones, Kaden has recently started re-listening to them once again....they never grow old, just become more familiar.
