The Pencil Grip, Inc. has done it again. They have made another product that we can't live without. I'm talking about the Magic Stix Washable Markers. We have been coloring everything we can get our hands on with this cool 24 pack, Kaden has even gotten away with doing some of his school work with them too. We were first introduced to The Pencil Grip, Inc. a few years ago when we reviewed their pencil grip. Since then we have become huge fans of many of their products. They offer tons of innovative products to use in both your home and school.
When we first opened our box Kaden right away was trilled they came in a durable clear carrying case. This has made clean up easy and made taking them on car trips, to the library or long Dr. visits a breeze. These vibrant markers are not only washable, but you can leave the cap off for 7 days and not worry about them drying out. Say What?!?! Yep, you read right and we tested it out and we went 11 days with no caps and they were still going on strong.
I have found that we use markers frequently during both school work and art time. There are a few things I look for when I get markers to use for both Kaden and I. Obviously I have some real nice watercolor markers that I use almost daily. But, I don't want to break those out every single time we go camping or outside to sketch.
For Kaden I need there to be No scent, these 100% have no scent what so ever. YES, this is a biggie for a kiddo on the Autism Spectrum. The next thing that is a must for Kaden is that the color stays consistent. You know how you can start coloring a large space and by the end it's all streaky and a lighter shade? Yeah, that makes Kaden go crazy, even when he was younger he would refuse to use markers for that very reason. But, these markers time and time again have proven to go on smoothly and evenly without streaks.
Now for me when I am sketching for fun or coloring in my Mama coloring books I look for 2 additional things then what Kaden does. One is that it doesn't bleed through to the other side and that the tip is small enough for tiny spaces yet not pencil thin that it's hard to fill in larger areas. And these markers are all over these two requirements too. Along with a few extra bonuses like non-toxic and washable. These are a Mom's dream for little kiddos and our special needs. Kaden is messy, no way around it and everything turns into a sensory project so we like the whole washable and non-toxic aspect.
