Princess Pulverizer~ Blog Tour

I have a super fun book that Kaden couldn't put down to tell you about this week....it's called PRINCESS PULVERIZER #1 GRILLED CHEESE AND DRAGONS.  Personally I think it was the pulverizer part that pulled him in and the fact that it allowed him to play around in the kitchen and make some grilled cheese sandwiches sealed the deal.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Meet the princess who'd rather wear a suit of armor than a crown!
Princess Serena (or as she prefers, Princess Pulverizer) doesn't want to be a princess--she wants to be knight! But her father, King Alexander of Empiria, thinks she still has a lot to learn when it comes to exhibiting valiant behavior. So he presents a challenge: the princess must first go on a Quest of Kindness and perform good deeds to prove that she truly deserves to go to knight school. With help from a friendly dragon named Dribble and a perpetually terrified knight-in-training named Lucas, can she complete her quest and discover what it really takes to be a hero?

Kaden first read it on a quick trip to the mountains a few weeks ago and again just this past weekend.  It's a fairly quick read, easy to get caught up in the story and kind of fall in love with Princess Serena even if she is a tiny bit spoiled. But, the real story here is that she doesn't want to be a princess.  She wants to be a knight and fight dragons.  Her father decides to challenge her to see if she has what it takes to be a Hero!! One of those things is kindness and that is one thing our little princess is lacking.  Even Kaden was quick to point out all her little misgivings in the start of the book.  It created a few really great moments to talk about being nice to others and our behaviors inside and outside our home.  The journey she takes and the friends she makes is exciting, so exciting that we were inspired to make a few grilled cheese sandwiches ourselves.....minus the limburger cheese!

We made a few different ones, Kaden loves to cook!  We decided to use french bread, the great thing about grilled cheese sandwiches is that you can come up with tons of insides as Kaden calls it.

Before I share the successes I will tell you a few of the thumbs down concoctions.
Nutella and Colby Cheese- Yuck!!
Banana and Cream Cheese- Yuck!!
Jelly and Cheddar Cheese- Yuck!!

We both agree that the Apples and Monterey Cheese was the Best, with the Ham, Avocado, tomato and Colby Cheese a close runner up!!  What are some of your favorite twists on a yummy Grilled Cheese?  Make sure you head over today and pick up your very own copy of Princess Pulverizer #1 Grilled Cheese and Dragons!
