To Float or Not to Float......

Invasion of the 5 year old has hit my Bathroom and I think he is here to stay!!!  Kaden usually takes a shower at night because he freaks out if water gets on his hair and face.  But, a month or so ago he was looking at his foam blocks and was asking about their weight.  They are so light compared to his wooden blocks.  Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder what they would do in water, I bet they would float.  I was like go own with your bad self, work your brain and take a look.  He was thrilled that his hunch was right on.
So, in came the huge bag of foam blocks.......poured them all in the tub(dog hair and bits of paper included).  He turned on the water and watched them like a proud mother hen.  I told him he should get in with them.  He seemed puzzled, but lifted a leg anyway to hop in.  I had to stop him, because (literal) Kaden was going to take a dip in the tub fully clothed!  HAHAHAHAHA
Anyway, that night was a successful bath, I was proud of him.  I even managed to get a little soap on him!  :D
I went out a bought some bubbles and for Christmas he opened all kinds of bath goodies.  One he loves is this Cars bath paint.  He also Loves these animals and insects that I bought for him.  I can now count on an hour of Bath Time almost every single night.  Good for him, but the relaxing bathroom I once had, now looks just like the rest of the house....a mess!!!  HAHAHAHAHA  Oh, well, at least my boy is clean! :)

The Three C's or Fish?

In our house we love Salmon!  We love it with every fiber in our gut.  If you asked my children to choose between Salmon and any cookie, cake or candy they would choose Salmon before you could finish your sentence.  Offer them enough money and they may think about it, but I'm almost certain even then they would pick the fish.
Dad is the Best at cooking it.  He knows just the way his kiddos and Wifey like it.
It's pretty simple, the main thing to remember is not to cook it too long and keep your eyes on the "cooked" plate.  You don't want to cook it too long because if it isn't juicy then it's all dried out and kiddos don't like that.  And if you take your eye of the "cooked" plate you are probably going to end up with fish  with torn of end pieces and missing fish all together.  :D
We use a Cajun seasoning, salt, pepper and garlic.  I have to have GARLIC in everything, except grits, oatmeal and cereal.  It's a MUST!
Hubby preforms magic with a little olive oil in the pan cooking it just a few minutes on both sides.  He squeezes a little lemon over one of the sides right before he takes it out.  It will continue to cook as it rests for a "bite"...I mean bit.  HAHAHAHAHA
We usually serve it with wild rice or mashed potatoes.  The veggie is always asparagus, brussel sprouts or fresh green beans.
Mmmmmm, I know what I'm heading out to buy for tomorrow's dinner..........

Momma Time...it's a Must!

What does this look like to you???????
This is the Glorious wonder called "The Teenage Driver".  If I have a hankering for a snack from the local Walgreens.....call Skylar!  If I forgot to pick up onions and garlic for tonight's dinner.....holler upstairs to Skylar.  In the bathroom and realized that YES, ONCE AGAIN THERE IS NO TOILET PAPER......take out the cell phone to call Skylar that's playing video games downstairs.
Do you see a pattern here?  Yes, Thank God Skylar can drive!!!!  Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!!!

Right now Mahala and Skylar are out watching a movie and stalking the stores at the Mall.  This allowed me to spend some quality fun time with Kaden....Love that little guy.  It's always nice to have one on one time with him when I can.  Homeschooling doesn't always make that the easiest thing in the world to do.  So it's important for me to carve out time for each of the kids to have individual Momma time....even when they don't want it!  HAHAHAHA

On Vacation, gave Lupus the Keys

What has my life been like these past few months?  Crazy and hectic during the Holidays and now we are in that Lazzzzy mode.  Where if we brush our teeth we feel like we deserve like some kind of recognition.  Am I proud of that???? No, heck no, but that's where we are right now.
I think the past few years we have been up in the air with health junk, getting a house or not getting a house and Kaden's Autism that we are just burnt out.  Not to mention Skylar graduates this year and that kind of puts me in the hot seat as a homeschooling Mom.  And then we have Mahala and all her softball glory that takes up more time then I swear a half marathon would.
Should I complain?????  No, but if you are reading this you might think I am just a bit.  I think I'm mainly in this mood because I'm stuck in the bed and have been for like FOUR days already because my Body has decided to go on Vacation and left the keys with Lupus!

Enough with that.... kind of went crazzzzy.  Speaking of crazy I at least have been able to finish the 1st season of Abby's dance competition and the beginning of her newest season.  I know she's crazy, but I can't help but feel a bit of kinship with her.  Mahala I swear looked at me yesterday and said she reminded her of me just a tad....you know when I'm in a mood.  I wasn't sure if I should bop her on the head or smile and act un-crazy.  I chose to smile and look un-crazy, but mainly because my legs were wrapped with heat packs.
Kaden Taking a Pic of You!!
