Kaden and I read the cutest book the other day and I thought it would be a perfect highlight for back to school reading. How to Be a T. Rex by Ryan North is not just an adorable book, but it packs a punch in the self esteem and confidence department. Oh and it also tells you how to not be a Tyrannojerkus Rex! :)
I asked Kaden what his favorite part of the book was and he said he liked her determination for being a T. Rex. But, he also liked that she was able to see that being a human was ok too. His favorite picture was when Sal figured out how to be 100% Awesome!!!! Make sure you check out our How to Be a T. Rex board on Pinterest for fun activities, food and games to celebrate this roarriffic book! But, first let's peek at the book's description and then take a look at what Kaden prepared for his day of eating like a T. Rex.
An upROARiously funny take on following your wildest dreams, from the bestselling creator of Dinosaur Comics
Being
a regular old human is kind of a drag. That's why Sal is not going to
be a teacher or doctor or lawyer when she grows up. She is going to grow
up to be an awesome Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Her brother thinks it's impossible, but Sal sure shows him! And in the beginning, being a T. Rex is AWESOME.
But did you know that it's kind of hard to make friends when you are a
super-giant, super-loud, super-stompy dinosaur? If only there
were a way for Sal to be 100% awesome, 100% of the time...

For lunch he had watermelon Spikes and dino scales. Don't be alarmed, the scales are just crisped up Parmesan cheese with a peperoni slice. And finally we decided to make homemade personal sized pizzas with all kinds of yummy toppings. And let's not forget party sprinkled brownies made completly by Kaden. :) What do you think a T. Rex would eat?
