A few years ago I was able to try out Smart Kidz Media library of digital media resources and we loved it. Recently I learned that they have developed many award-winning educational products since I was first introduced to them. Today I get to tell you about their newest addition, Smart Kidz Radio. This radio station is designed for children ages 3-12. All of the songs on it are original songs that were created to teach children life skills while promoting positive self-esteem/character traits and strong moral values.
I was shocked to learn that they offer their online 24/7 live streaming radio station completely for free and you can use it on the
computer or downloaded on an APP for your phone or tablet. They also offer podcasts that
your children can listen to filled with familiar fairy tales and
songs. And one of Kaden's favorite features is a local weather, traffic and request a song app in the menu section. Smart Kidz Media is also in the process of developing an
On-Demand Membership. This new membership gives you the ability to pick what you want to listen to instead of what happens to be streaming at the time. This service is unlike the
free radio station, the upgrade requires a small monthly or yearly membership fee. With the
On-Demand Membership you will be given access to over 1,000 children's
songs and stories. They will have specific programming for bedtime
stories, best loved Bible stories, relaxation from stress program, favorite Christmas stories, life skills songs, skills to

We listened while Kaden was doing something creative, playing with legos or doing chores. His honest opinion is that he thought the songs were a bit young for him. He said they would be perfect for kids 6 and younger. But he did enjoy the story time podcasts they were perfect for lunch time reading time. They were short and familiar, we listened to they all during the review period.
So, I would definitely give this a look, especially if you have young school-aged children. This is perfect for creative times, nap times even with the story time. I will admit chores were more fun with this playing in the background....it's worth a try. :)
