FlipStir Puzzles ~ REVIEW

http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb374/TOSCrew2011/2016%20TOS%20Crew/08%20-%20August/17%20Enlivenze/FS2-SOLSYS_Main-cut_hr_zpsf5gimhde.jpgWe love games and puzzles in this house and we incorporate them in our daily homeschool when we can.  We had been planning our cross country RV trip for a long time now.  Even though we do bring multiple games with us we have not yet brought a puzzle along.  When I heard about FlipStir Puzzles from Enlivenze LLC.  I was intrigued by the name right off the bat.  I was offered the Solar System puzzle to try in exchange for a Review on it.  I thought wow, I have this cross country RV trip this would be perfect to take along with us!   And that's what we have done, here it sits in the cup holder of our RV and trust me it has come in handy more then once on our dusty trail cross country! :)

So, what is a FlipStir Puzzle?  Well, honestly it's a plastic tube or cylinder rather with a wand with a tiny foot at the bottom of it that you use to swirl around the puzzle pieces inside.  There are 2 different levels available.  The Rainbow Pencils and Tyrannosaurus Rex are Level 1 and have flat pieces where the Solar System and Statue of Liberty are Level 2 and have wavy more difficult pieces to try and fit together.  We were able to try the Solar System FlipStir.

I am very aware that Kaden has a hard time with his motor skills and I was literally thinking of this as not just a toy, but a tool...a therapy kind of.  He has yet to complete it and once he does I will try and remember to Update this post.  But, the important thing to remember is that you take something that's challenging and fun and give it to this child, he not only is strengthening his hand eye coordination, but he's not glued to a screen people!  That alone is a game changer.  He will pick it up and fiddle with it and then put it down.  We took it to two appointments before our trip and that was nice to have something you could toss in a bag, not worry about broken or missing pieces and there is no screen involved!  Since we have been on our trip it has traveled in with us to a few National Parks and even a Zoo.  For Kaden he tries to get one additional piece on then he did the time before.  And that's good enough for us both!  Several people including myself have done it and eventually solved it.  So, it can be done!!

So, what do I think?  Well, I promised him I would by him another one once he finishes this one.  He hasn't given up and is looking forward to the other ones.  So, I would say that we all give FlipStir Puzzles an A+++.  If you are looking for something that doesn't involve a screen and challenges your Kiddo....or Husband this is for you.  These Puzzles are light weight and would make excellent Christmas or Birthday Gifts.  You can pop them in your tote bag and take them to the Lake, Beach, Camping, Road Trips, Appointments, Sleep Overs.....you name it you can take it without worrying about losing pieces.
