ACTÍVA Products~ REVIEW

You know sometimes you just want to get your Art on, but want to try something new, fun.....but simple.  We were able to get our little crafting hands on something that filled my need to create beautiful things, Mahala's need to be as detailed as possible and finally Kaden's need of squishing things with his hands.  I'm talking about the Rigid Wrap and CelluClay Quik-Sculpting Kit from ACTÍVA Products.  Wowsers, the possibilities with these two products are e-n-d-l-e-s-s!  And my favorite thing about this company is that all of their products are Non-Toxic, Non-Carcinogenic and Gluten Free.  For any child this is awesome, but with a child like Kaden who has Autism this is a blessing.  Because everything goes on his face, mouth, hair...you name it.  Not to mention that he is very sensitive....he even gets rashes from store bought play-dough because of the gluten.

Honestly I put this off a few weeks because I thought it was going to be a little more labor intensive then what it really ended up being.  Thus, I only have two really cool projects that are completely finished to show you.  We were given 2 rolls of Rigid Wrap plaster cloth and 8 ounces of CelluClay along with Instructions.  We also received their Free ebook, ACTÍVA Products' Favorite Sculpture KIDS CRAFTS.  We did look through it and liked what we saw.  Inside you will find detailed instructions on crafts from sweet spiders to erupting volcanoes.  We plan to make the Christmas ornaments next month that they share and for Halloween we are going to try making their pumpkin.  For all of the projects they share in the ebook you will have a list of materials, great close up pictures of the finished project and the process along with simple instructions.  Everything is easily found already around your house or at a local craft store.  Oh, I almost forgot....the beads are so cool.  We have that on our to do next list....we have all the supplies ready on the table, so we will post once we have them finished. :)

So, here are a few of our finished products.....

Kaden wanted to do a bowl that he could keep little trinkets and nature finds in it beside his desk, so that's what he started with.  He prepared the bowl with cling wrap, measured and cut the Rigid Wrap all by himself.  I did help him dip it into the water and apply it, because right away he liked the texture and I knew it would end up on his face.  :)  We let it dry over night and the next morning it was dry completely and ready to paint.  **Just want to add that clean up was as simple as a few wet paper towels.**  We used regular acrylic paint, it dried beautifully, no complications, pealing, cracking or anything.

I love the colors that he decided to do, along with the black and gray swirl for the bottom.  He was so proud and happy to paint his bowl and asked numerous times to make more.

Mahala decided to make me a jar for my paint brushes....I know super lucky Momma over here.  She did the same as Kaden with the cling wrap first.  And then used the Rigid Wrap to make the jar.  She used the CelluClay to shape the butterflies and heart.

Both her and Kaden used the CelluClay Quik-Sculpting Kit.  Kaden whipped up a bath in a ziplock bag for both of them.  Kaden covered a few foam blocks that we had and plans to make Minecraft heads.  He's not finished with them yet.  They take a lot of precision paint work for those he said. :)  Mahala did such a great job, taking extra time on it.

I'm sure there is no guessing as to if we enjoyed using the Rigid Wrap and CelluClay Quik-Sculpting Kit.  Of course we did and while looking on the ACTÍVA Products website we found some other great products we would like to try also.  Items like their Air Dry Clay and their Natural Stone Clay.  This is a great company to get many different art supplies that you can feel safe and confident in their quality of product.
